Car Parking Problems at Brueton Park
07/02/2011 by admin.
The Councils Transport & Highways Dept. have extended Waiting Restrictions on the Warwick Road fronting Brueton Park the effect of which is to remove 15 on-street car parking spaces for users of Brueton Park.
The Association has opposed this change and is calling for the on-street waiting restrictions intended prevent all day parking be simplified to a 3 hour limit which would allow better parking provision on this wide section of Warwick Road Highway for the park users. The present restrictions are 9am-11am & 2pm-3pm which causes confusion and genuine park users inadvertantlyreceiving parking tickets.
We say the actual car park area is frequently full and extending it would encroach onto the parkland and be costly at a time when funding is simply not available. Using this section of Warwick Road costs nothing, does not front onto residential homes and it makes sense to use it fully to allow access to this attractive park which is not well served by public transport.
What is your experience in parking at Brueton Park at busy times?
